wheel spacers
« on: June 03, 2005, 03:34:14 PM »
who's using them, how big, and where from?

i know there are some bad things said about wheel spacers, but was wondering if its better/cheaper than flipping rims.

1" wheel spacers from www.snakeracing.com.au here are $165 AUD each. thats $660 for 4. i can get custom wheels made to suit for about $100 each.

has anyone made their own? do spacers need to be ballanced?

thanks

The last set I put on was from e-bay usa. they were 165.00 us. for all four of them plus a few dollars for shipping, not bad at all I helped a friend put them on his rig you just have to clean every thing real well and torque all the bolts and we used blue loc-tite on all of the stock studs, no problems yet, I use a 2'' back spaced wheel and they work just fine 15x8" with 33x12.5" tires on them.

yeah. sometimes you get great bargains on ebay. just gotta be quick.

i have standard 3" back space F100 wheels at the moment, and with 31"s, they dont hit anywhere on my vit.

i was thinking i should look into wheel spacers now, seeing as i'm going to get some 33" 12.50"s for my vit soon. can never be too careful.

well, i still got standard and unmoddified guards i can cut up, but my vit will never be the same again. you know how it is.

A local shop here in Boise sells 1 inch and 2 inch, 5 on 5.5 spacers for ~40 a piece and ~50 a piece respectively.

(set of 4 would either be $160 for 1 inch or $200 for 2 inch)

I'd say shop around before you buy.
