I did the RUF setup with TT missing links with the Leaf Springs under the Axel and love it. Now I THINK I want the steering over the Springs up high for ground clearance. I have all new STOCK OEM steering components ($$$) and was wondering if anyone made a Kit so I could use the stock stuff and still put it up high and out of harms way. I really can't spend much more money right now and still expect to sleep inside ( you all know what I mean) So what is out there? All input welcome.

im workin on that steering now, from what i can tell you can keep alot of it but some just has to be bought.  i got mine from RRO, it uses the stock tie rod but the rod that connects the main tie rod to the pitman arm needs to be replaced.  you'll need to buy (unless you can fab one) a arm that will connect that smaller rod to the caliper (which gets it out of the way)

Thanks and keep me posted on your progress. I have seen the Mercedes steering arms that bolt to the Samurai Spindles but I was hoping that someone had some sort of Kit using OEM Drag Link and Steering arm. I would even "Modify" what I have just to keep cost down. Anyone else?

I run the first part of the OTT steering system from Sky Manufacturing.  It leaves the tie rod stock and just gives you half of the link and one upper steering arm.  It works great and is cheaper then a lot of other kits.

The lower tie rod can still be bent, but you really should avoid running into things with it anyway.

I used the mercades steering arms on mine.  used the stock drag link and tie rod. just had to shorten them a touch  ground the tie rod end out of  them and cut them to length. worked great think I did the whole thing for like  60 bucks

Got any Pics ?  It would be great to see how you did it. I am waiting on some shims from TT right now before I jump into anything.

You know how it is. I did not know I was going to Dive so deep into this project. I actually could have saved some money by getting an aftermarket setup instead of the OEM stuff I bought. I am going to keep looking for a way to use what I have got, so it just dosen't end up in a corner in my shop. ANYONE!!!!!!!!

Other then switching to an extended z-bar I'm not sure there is much you can do.  Have you tried driving it?  Do you have a lot of bump steer on the road?

Since you are still in a Spring Under configuration your tie rod should be above your springs already.

Drone you are right but I want them up high out of the way and that is the only way I had seen or read to describe what I wanted.

When I first bought my the Axles I put under it had a high steer mount welded onto the kingpin similar to how you do it on a Toyota axle.  The bolt's where sheared off but I figured it was because they were using low grade bolts.  I took out the broken ones, put in some nice high grade bolts, and went down to Moab.  Coming down Moab Rim I dropped off a ledge and sheared 3 of them off.  The 'fix' was to replace them, then go down to a local 4x4 shop and weld the kingpin in place with 3 or 4 layers from a good stick welder.  That knuckle never came off again, but the steering held with stock components until I had a chance to replace the axle.

The high steer kit's bolt through the caliper mounts, giving you the better point for leverage.
