im actually looking to keep my stock aluminum hosuing and such for now and just put a ring around it to keep it there so it wont flop around. like those pictures? sorry if i wasnt clear. im new here and new to the off roading world.
Are you sure that just the pinion mount itself broke? If so, I'd suggest just replacing it and see if the level of wheeling you're at is going to break stuff. Possibly it was already close to failure before you went wheeling?
If you're going to wheel 'fairly hard', ditch the aluminum and get the steel housings from the GV manual transmission or XL7... It's a bolt in for the Steel GV and very close to bolt in for the XL7. Also get the CV shafts from a 96 or newer Sidekick for it's 26 spline instead of 22... All of this is bolt on and will give you a lot more strength...
Good luck, Eric
