Traded my DD Sammy for a DD Kick
« on: June 25, 2004, 08:47:20 AM »
I think my Sammy may have found a new home  :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'(  Will know more tomorrow.

Well it's Tomorrow now and i've got a new project...
It's like Christmas in June.
I just got a new 96 2 dr Tracker DD, Traded Even for the DD red sammy.  It is stock, But I like it.  Multiport 16v 1.6, 5 spd, ac, T-hitch, conv.   It needs some love, Tires, brakes, clutch adjust, Chech engine light and more.  I need to get is squared awy before out beach trip to Hatteras next week.  Any one know of a good, OBD II diagnostic web site.  I've got to brush up quick.  Derick,  oh Derick!!

I have been saving up IFS kick lift parts for the 4-door.  (This is why I  work so much Over Time / gotta pay to play) I have a 2.5" Pro Comp suspension lift, a 3" Cal-mini body lift, and a set of BFG 33x9.50-15 AT KO's. on 8" black rock crawlers,  Not sure exactly what I want to do with the litte kick yet, but if I get the itch to turn the wrenc it could grow up quick.

Hills never show up in pictures.  This is what it really felt like.  Hey 4wd works!   [thumbsup]

A built Sammy for a stock kick doesn't sound like a great deal.  Unless the kick has a lot less miles on it.

Hey,wonder where you got those extra lift parts  ;D ;)

Do it to it, lift it and put some decent taller tires on it(radials)ride nicer.

By the way, i got my brake conversion parts,so, no need to keep looking.

Thanks,  I can not wait to loose the decals /embolems and detail the Track / Kick.

Sammy had square tires 1/4 treadand burned 1 quart of oil per tank O fuel.  + I have more sammy's.   AND no AC on a DD.  But I did give him a new best top in the box, rebuilt the front hubs a and did new bearing + New brakes.

I got AC PS 5 Spd EFI 4wd.    But the Kick has a check engine light and is in need of tires ands brakes.

ANd now for a before shot of the $100 sammy.

Lots of time love and money.

Trail riding this Sammy in 7hrs, it is 3am now....  It rides on teh kick 34's

8) Cool man, good trade! You are going to have a lot of fun. Although I like the classic look and dependability of the Samurai, I think the new ride will much better in the long run... it's just too bad you couldn't have 'em both!

steveo

p.s. let me know if you need any good ricer upgrades!

If it were just two the Wife would be fine, BUT the Wife says 11 Sammy's is 11 too many.  So now it's 10 sammys and 2 Track Kicks,  83 Toyota 4wd pu, 94 Civic Hatch, 78 F-150 4wd, 94 S-10 Blazer 4dr 4wd, 94 Jeep ZJ, 88 GMC 1-ton 4dr 4wd  3 boats and about a dozen Motorcycles, one 4-wheeler ...  I think.

My love for workin on stuff got me into this mess, about all of them are just about junk to anyone else.
