Just so noone gets the wrong idea, not all XL7's and GV's have the steel front housings. Only certain years so. Mine is from an XL7 with 5.125's and supposedly came out of an '03 and it is aluminum.  I read somewhere that it should have been steel>:(. It does have a slightly different mounting system however which hopefullly is better than my last one.

I needed brackets from both and had to have holes bored through the new diff at a machine shop.  So far so good and I've been doing some wheeln' this summer!!! ;D

i think the third is different from xl7 to gv.  my 03 5spd xl7 has the steel front.

Grrr...the yard who shipped me mine must have been full of it when they said it came out of an '03. Oh well when it breaks I'll be back on the hunt for a steel one.
