Help Black Track/kick owners!!
« on: June 25, 2004, 08:31:27 AM »
I found a black 1996 Tracker.  I am worried about the color.  Is it hot in the summer?  Does it get scratched beyond belief off road?  Is it so dirty all the time that the vehicle looks bad?

Any opionions would be welcome!!!

We also have a black Montero Sport.  The exterior color doesn't affect the interior temperature.  It does look dirty though when it hasn't been washed.  It looks great when it is clean.  I wouldn't be afraid to get a black kick.

I've got a black tintop with a tubbed out interior, and it still gets fairly warm (NOTHING compared to my old F-100) when the windows are rolled up.

As far as scratches go: I have bedliner up to the windows... scratched don't show too much ;)

Mine does get pretty dirty, and it is kinda hard to clean, but that is 95% the fault of the bedliner ;)

Black is by far the coolest Trackick color ;) ;D

The my tracker is covered with west coast pin striping  ;)

It looks dirty most of the time unless it was just washed.

I don't notice any temp differance because of the color (compared to my dads purple/grey sidekick)

I don't mind the black at all. It makes the truck look pretty aggressive. Go for it!

Hard top  or soft top?
hard top would be hotter cause (I think) oon a soft top the hot air could escape. :-/
I have a soft top. Unzip rear and side windows. No problem. ;D  And no a/c.

Scratches.    Black is black, easy touch-up

Gets dirty.    it'll get dusty but so does every car. Thats why ya wash it but not in the sun 8)
Besides black is cool 8) ;D

Ya I think I'm gonna build an exocage for the beast.

Most of the trails on the island have deep ditches and off camber sections, so your always scraping body panels along the ground.

My front fenders are beat! I hate it.

My truck looks like a POS when I park it next to Mac's Sidekick.  Maybe I'll go on a commando mission one night and swap my fenders with his while he's sleeping  :P

Haha J/K bud.  ;)

Nope.

I imagine I'll have to when I get some bigger tires though.
