Tires and a lift
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:22:05 AM »
Hey whats up, my name is Bill, Im new to this forum. I just bought a 98 Tracker 4 door, using it mainly as a hunting rig. I plan on putting a 2" suspension and a 1" body lift, just wondering what tire size I could put on? Any type of tire you might recommend would be awesome too, thanks.

With a 2" spacer lift and 1" body you should be able to fit some 30x9.5" tires without an issue.  Any larger then that an you start getting into power issues.

I have been really happy with the Toyo MTR's as a good general all around tire.  But the new BRG MTR is getting great reviews.  There is a pretty good thread at http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/general-suzuki-forum/not-your-'same-old'-tire-thread/ where people post their reviews of various tires and sizes along with the lift they are running.  Looking through the Members Ride thread at http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/general-suzuki-forum/members-rides-info-thread-(picture-thread)/ is another good place to get an idea of what fits and what does not.

Nice, thanks alot. Any recommendations on lift kits? I checked into the Toyos earlier today, but the smallest size is 31", would it really be that big of an issue?

If you plan on driving your zuk on the freeway, it makes a huge difference.  I just went up to 235/75r15's on my 96 tracker, and all I can say is, if your gonna go any bigger than that, you'd better have a while to get there.  I'm not saying anything, I'm just sayin'

My 2" coil spacer/strut spacer lift kit works well. Mudchild also makes a good one. You really cannot go more than 2" with a spacer lift for wear and safety reasons.

New shocks, yes. Camber bolts, no if you slot the holes on the lower strut mounts.
