Godzuki II, 500 mile road trip
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:52:54 AM »
So a few years ago when I first started talking to Eric about building me a rig, all I wanted is the bigest baddest thing on the trail... tube frame, big tires, big motor, etc... after many late night discussions I decided an all purpose adventure rig would be MUCH better suited for my needs (but I still wanted big). So what I got was a streetable rig that can handle the long haul road trip... http://zukiworld.com/month_020109/feature_suzuki-sidekick-build-up.htm.

Recently.. due to my GMC Suburban dieing on me, my kick has been 'upgraded' from weekend warrior to daily driver. Not only for the 35 miles of daily commuting (when the weather keeps me off the motorcycle), but for work trips too...

Tuesday I took off on a 500 mile trip to a project meeting and to have a few cold beverages with my good friend in Memphis. This trip was 505 miles of interstate riding. Having perfect weather, it was an awesome trip of top down cruising and enjoying the scenery pass by.... The kick performed perfectly, as designed.. cruising easily at 70 mph, drinking down the gas at a reasonable 18mpg it was an awesome trip in the Zuk... Thanks again Eric, for building me one awesome rig.....

The longest non stop in her was a 2100 mile from Imperial Beach CA to Nashville on the way back from picking her up  ;)

Thanks... we got 'snow' yesterday.... more like an 1/2" of ice with 3-4" of snow on top... makes for some fun driving.... the bad part is I've got my driveshaft out of Godzuki II so I can order me a high angle ftom Tom Woods.... So it's playing in the snow in the stocker this round...

I definately use her for both... I wanted a beast off road that still had road manners... Many people said it could not be done, but Eric hooked me up  ;D

Thats a great looking rig.

Thanks!!!
