Explorer pro comp tires

I am not sure if they have the same sale in the US, but right now it is buy 3 get one free, and There is a local tire shop that can get me a super deal on them. I am so not happy with the tsl's now that it has gotten warm they are burning off like crazy I doubt I will get a half year out of them. Looking at there Mud terrain and ther x terrain. The x terrains look good but I am worried they will wear to quickly as well..

Mac, is that cedar tire your talking about? i saw on their sign, "31 inch mudders for $499 installed" it may be 599 installed i cant remember but i iwll see it this weekend.

That is exactley where they are at , Duane got a quote of $187.00 for a 31x10.50 mt under $600.00 for four installed and balanced.

I'm getting a set of 235/75/15 M/Ts from high-tec retreading for $240 with shipping.  The size you are talking about would be $10 more per tire.  I should get them tonight and am going to my uncle's to install them.  I'll let you know how they are soon.

I have the ProComp Mts and I love them... I've had them since Dec and it's been on the pavement and trails alike and it's been great.

They are 2 ply side walls but they claim it's as strong as the BFG 3 ply (haven't tested that luckly) but on the pavement cause it is 2 ply the ride is a lot softer. Noise isn't bad at all you do hear the humm but it is MT's

As for wear I've had them for over half a year and I drive on average 400 km a week and it's been better then I expected.

I've only heard good things about the X-Terrain as far as wear rates go.

I've heard several complaints with the X-Terrains. They work great going one way, but going in opposite direction just sucks.

They are a directional tire. So if you have a spare, which
way is it mounted?

Please give us a full review on the retreads!!!

I have been looking at them but I am scared of all the crap that goes along with retreads. (ie tread seperation, out of balance)

The tires are Michelin's????

Sheesh, I thought that those were BFG MTs from the pics in your other thread... didn't look very closely, I guess ;)

They look pretty decent, how do they perform?

I had them on my old toyota, and absolutely loved them. So much so, I'm planning on putting them on my Zuk when its done. They seem to wear great too(that was on a 3500 lb. truck, Zuk should be better).

Just stay on the tire pressure. I ran mine about 5psi too high, and wore the center siping off. Worked great at 5psi in the snow.

I had a set of 35x12.5 Xterrains. No complaints on wear rate or traction. They are directional, however I didn't have any problems in forward or reverse.
I got it stuck in a mud bog (going forward of coarse) and broke the rear diffy. I was in pretty deep, but was able to back out of it on my own power with the front end engaged only.
