hey has anyone ever seen a write up on changing the samurai tailgate to open like a normal truck tailgate? I hate how mine swings out and would like to to this to it.

Look up a build thread by "marshall" on zukikrawlers.com....he did it to his samurai.

  AKdale was making a tailgate conversion that I have been running for a couple years now.  He makes them in batches every now and then. But I think his design can be improved. I have fiddled with designs to make it stronger and easier.  It is strong enough to hold 3 people on it.

how do you keep yours up flexmonger? oh and how do I contact AKdale to get info on his conversion?

  It is kept in the closed position, by the stock latch mechanism. And kept open by the aircraft grade cables on either side of the tailgate. AKdale is found on the suzuki offroad.com site and on the Zuwharrie site.

I did a search on zuwarrie and couldnt find him on there but I duplicated my post here so hopefully he will see it or someone else.
