about to do a shackle reversal, did a search and came up with nothing.

does anyone have pics of a complete front shackle reversal/ info on it/ or a link?

go with calmini, i did the shackle reversal kit on my samurai and it went on in about 45 min. very easy and great results

A Calmini shackle reverse is only a 2" lift. Do you mean spring over axle?

I ran the CALMINI Shackle Reverse with their SPOA kit and it rode great on the street and flexed like crazy

Yeah, with the 2" S/R kit that is it... But trust me, that's plenty for most everything.

I'm sure others will disagree and I do have slightly larger Samurai too but for all around Utility, keeping them small w/gears, lockers, and engine makes them awesome!

do you lose clearance?  granted i have alot of other stuff added but i was thinkin it would stay about the same (obviously raising 2") or maybe im just not understanding very well.

Here's mine with 215's and stock suspension.



Same car (new paint) with same tires and Calmini shackle reverse.



Tires are 215 75 R15 and measure if I remember like 26 1/2 ". I have since added OME springs and went up to 235's. Now keep in mind that after you go up passed 2 " of lift you have to address the shocks and steering issue. Also when I went to the 235's ( 29"), I had rubbing on the front springs on full turn. And I had changed my front bumper to clear the larger tires. I changed the back space on my rims and the tires don't rub anymore.

That's basically what I have but I got OME springs instead of Calmini. Added longer shocks, extended sway bar hangers, drop pitman and a new steering stabilizer. When I put the bigger tires on, they rubbed the front springs during full turn . Being the cheapa** that I am, I reversed the stock rims, drilled new valve stem holes after welding over the stock holes and painted them black. I did have to do a little grinding on the rear brake drums and just a smidge on the calipers to clear the wagon wheel spokes as they now slant in. Had this setup for a couple of years now with no problems.

It changed the backspace from about 4" to 2 1/2" for a gain of about 1 1/2" per side. The spokes now slant in but the lug stud holes are chamfered on both sides so the nuts will seat. You have to shave just enough off of the brake drum around the edge so the wheel will seat against the drum at the lugs. How I did it was jack it up and let it run in gear with the wheel off. As the drum turned I used a disk grinder to bevel the edge so it would be even. Kind of like a lathe. I would turn off the car and check it with the wheel every so often until it seated snug. On the front I only had to grind off just a small edge on the caliper.
