Back in the fold
« on: January 18, 2011, 08:21:26 PM »
Well, after a longish break from zukis, I find myself back again. My g/f's van munched the tranny and rather than fix it, we decided we needed to replace it. We just got back from a 2-1/2 hour road trip into West Virginia to pick up a 95 Tracker LSI ex-motorhome pusher. I'll get a pic or two tomorrow in the light. It's in really nice shape, the nicest one I've ever had, not counting the X-90, and I was really happy with the deal. So I guess I will be lurking around here again more regularly now...

G/F says she doesn't want me to mod it at all, she says she likes it just the way it is... I wonder how long THAT will last! LOL!
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

Well, the other day I tried to drive it to work. It started having a miss under 2500rpm that would go away above that, so I just kept it revved a little higher. I was worried that it might suffer from the dreaded "loose timing pulley bolt" syndrome with a wallowed-out keyway on the crank. Then the next trip, the rusted exhaust seemed to get a little quieter and the miss was there no matter what rpm. I barely made it home, but I was relieved for sure. Tonight I cut a hole in the exhaust pipe right in front of the Cat, and though it was loud, the miss was gone. I guess the cat decided to clog itself off.

No big deal though, I still have the parts rig from Zig and it still has a stock 16v exhaust in good shape in it, so I will just swap it over...
