« on: February 05, 2011, 10:44:51 AM »
I've read some posts already but am still unable to get anywhere!  I have a 3 inch lift on an 04 xl-7 and was wanting to replace rear shocks with some bigger,  i read monroe pn#5861 would work, has anyone tried these yet?  any other suggestions would b great.

When I replaced my I used 1999 ford f-150 4x2 v6 rear shocks. This give me the max amount of flex with the springs not falling out. Do NOT use 4X4 shocks as they too long

'03 ZR2 2dr Tracker, '02 XL-7 drivetrain and electrcs
XL-7 front coils
1.5" rear coil spacers
Monroe 32316 shocks w/2" extenders
235/70-16 Bridgestone Destination A/Ts on stock XL-7 Alloys RRO Rock Rails (Presently removed, as they rusted to all hell; all the bolts were rusted to dust.  Real nice, RRO...) http://www.trivia-nights.com

I have been wheelin the new shocks with no problems, they seem to perform well. I used them in deep snow with chains on the front and hill climbing and also mud, the only problem i have now is not enough ground clearance! We'll see if the boss will let me do anything else to "her Kazuki" haha.
