a large glass packed type muffler will probably be your best bet. any run of the mill generic brand should do.

This is 1 of the funniest topics I have read! It seems everybody else wants to make em louder or have some sound.   When I bought my Sammy the 1st mod was to take off the Flowmaster and have the guy at the muffler shop put on a nice quite stock muffler. I have the 2" exhaust with no cat and a tailpipe. No radio... no noise... and I am fine with it. That might be the best $70.00 I have spent performance wise.  ;)

yea it caught me off guard too. ahh heck whats wrong with tires howling and exhaust rumbling to the point your driving cross eyed and having a stroke! thats when you turn up the 3,000 dollar stereo in that 2,000 rig.!
if it were 10 years ago that would have sounded pretty good but theres alot to be said for being able to talk to the passenger with out sign language  ;D

haha I was just curious. I have the cherry bomb on it right now, I think it would be neat to have one real quiet. I think ill just add some more herculiner to the floor and underneath too. Need another coat anyways. Also I guess i can put the radio back in it. will help out. Does anyone know if they make anything like what the jeeps have for speakers. the part that goes across the top piller with speakers in it? Think im going to make some.

I know what you all mean about quiet. when I got my Tintop Tracker I gutted it, insulated the doors, rear fender wells and rear floor, tunnel and back door with sound deadening materal, that 1/2 " thick silver backed stuff, then gave the bottom of the tub a couple good coats of Herculiner, and added thick rubber mats made from my old Toyota pickup bed liner. Quieted it down considerably but still no Buick. I had enough "loud" working at a Harley dealership.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

A stock type muffler is generally the quietest.
