Front wheel bearings

Anyone know if these are serviceable (clean and re-grease them) or do you just replace the whole hub outright?

Looking at the parts manual - it's the hub assembly.

I replaced my whole hub, but it certainly looked rebuildable.  I'm not positive, but I think O'reilly's showed a bearing kit on their parts lookup.

edit:  "not available online", but it's listed

there are two types. I know my 02 I needed to replace the whole spindle/hub so I swapped for an 04 where you can just replace the bearings

Gen I wheel bearings and races are replaceable.  You can buy a set of bearings and races at most Auto Parts stores.

Here is an article on the topic (searchable at Ack's FAQ...):

http://www.shropshire-suzuki.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=13294

I recommend that you buy these parts locally.  As mentioned at the end of the above thread, it is possible to get a "problem part" that is not machined properly. It's easier to take the part back to a local store for a refund than to deal with an out-of-town supplier...

I hope that ths helps!
