I have recently acquired a 1995 Tracker and was wondering if anyone has found a direct swap for the horn? My last vehicle was a 2000 4runner and the horn made that annoying Roadrunner "beep beep". I found a 1999 F150's horn was a direct swap with the positive/negative/grounding all being identical to the 4runner, and those suckers will rattle your teeth!The tracker's horn is even more anemic than the 4runner's, so it has got to go. I might pay a visit to the pick-n-pull this weekend and try to snag another F150 horn, although the space between the grill and radiator is pretty small.

Anybody found a nice loud horn that can fit in the stock location?

I always had HELLA air horns in my land cruisers. there small and damn loud,people take notice when a suv make noise like that. I will be putting some in my kick too.

Air horns would definitely bring me a whole pile of satisfaction, but I'm aiming for a simple swap of the stock horn for another stock horn. The local pick-n-pull sells any horn for $2.

One nice thing about the Trackers is, unlike the Samurai, they have a 12v circuit that is only hot when you are using the horn.  So swapping over to an air horn from Harbor Freight is as simple as running the wire to the existing horn to wherever you mount the new one.  Just put a larger fuse in as the 5 am fuse will blow out after a few uses.

Go with the F-150 horn,just as loud as the air horn and less work and  less cheaper .
The F-150 horn is located by the battery tray.

My wife said I had to have on of those to replace the bleep - bleep of the tracker horn when we first got the Tracker.  Mine isn't very loud, but it brings a smile to most people I ARROOOKAA.

Don't put in a larger fuse... Use a relay.  Much safer than potentially frying your wiring.

But yeah, the "all in one" air horn at HF is pretty freakin' loud... Got one on my cycle, too.  THAT gets some looks!

I finally made it to the junkyard this morning and snagged a couple of horns. The first one was from a 1999 Chevy 1500. I swapped it in but it sucks! the stock horn is better. I then put in a horn from a late 90's/early 2000's Ford fullsize panel van, and that sucker will rattle your fillings. It's awesome! really easy swap and it fits quite nice behind the grill using the Ford mounting bracket that was already attached.

Put a train horn kit on it, they'll get some attention.

 I am thinking about installing my "T.Rex" horn that I got a long time ago, back when Jurassic Park was just leaving the theatres. It actually "roars" just like the T.Rex did when the Heep outran it in the movie. It is 112-115 db, according to the back of the case.

That would fit your handle.
