air box sensor

Hi my name is steven, I am new to the site and I have a 1995 4x4 sidekick. I was wondering what the sensor is that is threaded into the airbox and if its necessary because it would be nice to be able to clamp a filter onto the end of the MAF and forget about everything else thanks.

You want to keep all of the sensors, but they don't need to stay where they are.  I would just drill out a spot to re-mount the sensor behind your new air filter.

Drone's right,  unplugging sensors is a recipe for a bad running motor.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER
