My Snorkel
« on: June 01, 2004, 03:28:38 PM »
I built this a week or two ago out of stuff I found laying around the house, and figured I'd post some pics.

If a tree took it, it would be easy to replace.

I've heard and seen too many hydroed engines to not have one.

I was driving into this water hole really slow.  All of a suddenly the front end droped and water rushed up on to the hood.  I quickly turned off the engine.

But as it turned out the hole wasn't that deep and the engine was ok.

Snorkle soon followed.

i have a snorkel and it is in a vary safe place and i don't get much water in the filter, let alone the engine.

Nope, most of my offroading is in fairly wide open trails (I ride with fullsize trucks ;D) and a majority of mud.

To the engine or the body? It runs straight to the engine with just the cone filter on top. I screwed a piece of strap metal stuff to the A-pillar and then bolted it around the tube, clamping it down.
