How do women fell about your zuk?
« on: May 28, 2004, 04:15:05 PM »
I am the wife of an off road adventurer, and I love it.  I just wanted to know if your wives b|removethispart|@^#$ about money spent, ect. or if they are cool with it.  I am definately not my husband's biggest fan, though, our 3 yr old daughter already wants a big zuk when she grows up (but she told us that she wanted bigger tires than her daddy-  talk about proud!)

Ã‚  About 3 years ago, I promised my husband I'd go off roading with him "occasionally" :(, just because I loved him. :-*  Now, I have my own Zuk and can't talk him into going often enough!

We have another couple we go riding with.  She bought her Zuk new in '88, with him telling her she was crazy to spend money on one of those.  He finally bought his own a couple of weeks ago, after years of "borrowing" hers to go play in.

::) I get the looks all the time from the better half. When I start going off about lifts and trails and such, she rolls her eyes!! When I start talking about $1000 this and $2000 that she gets worried (we're newlyweds 1st anniversary in Aug) because we're just starting off. I figure when we get the 'ol second putt-putt to cruise in, turning the Zuke into a off-road monster won't be a big deal... or so she says!

steveo

p.s. my wife's a crazier off-roader than me! First day out, both struts BAMM!!

Wy Girlfriend didn't like it when I was putting on my body-lift, she said higher was ugly but now I have it on and the new tires she even likes it  ;D, went wheeling with her for the first time sunday a few weeks ago. And she forgot to put her seatbelt on and was thrown all over the car.... she was mad but then she didn't want to go back in if I was doing something not straigt, but she could take pictures then  ;D. I think she will like it after we went a few more times together, we'll be going on a weekend in a few weeks so that's good  ;)

my wife hates it. Complains about every minute I spend on it, even if she is not home. Curses every dollar (that she knows about) that I spend on it. Gives me a guilt trip every time I take it out to the point that while I am wheeling I am thinking about the crap I am gonna get when I get home (which zaps alot of the fun of wheeling). I just got a trailer cheap from a friend to haul it, and used a savings bond I got from my grandfather before we met (so its not even "our" money) and it cost me a trip to Disney World this fall (which is fine, the kids will love it). She did say she liked my roll cage (thanks Rockrat!), that was a proud moment! She has been getting better though, I'll give her that, but I do envy you guys that have girls that are into it. I have three daughters, 12 year old is embarrased about it, 5 year old loves it so there is some hope I can get her involved some day and the 3 year old thinks its ugly and scary.

Well, the Tracker in my avatar IS my Wife's. She loves wheeling as much as I do. I am lucky enough to have just picked up a new tandem axle trailer that she bought for me for a b-day gift. The sammy is now going to be a buggy  and not going to bother registering it anymore. Would have had a ton of problems anyway here in Assachussetts in trying to reg. and inspect it.

my fiance loves it. she loves to go cruising around in it. she always wants to drive it. I let her drive it on the beach when we first got together and i told her "try to be easy on the gas, your in sand and this isnt the 4cyl." She gets in and hammers on the gas, sand flying everywhere, back-end trying to walk sideways, ect........ (that was the last time she drove it)

Well I have only off roaded once on a very light and easy trail and my girlfriend was with me.  She had a blast and can't wait to go again.  She does think that I spend a little more time with the Sidekick then I should, but she understands.  What pisses her off is that I'm always on Zukiworld!!  ;D :o

She's like, "Your're always on ZUKIworld..."

:-[ To my girlfriend vehicles of any type are just transportation to her. If it runs and gets you there, thats all that counts, she doesn't understand our love for vehicles being born in China they didn't have a car when she grew up,until they came to the states in 1979.

She likes my Tracker,we both call it the Boing, boing car cause it bounces so much. ::) ;D

My wife likes to ride in my Tracker but hates to drive it, says it's too tippy. My daughter doesn't care for cars in general, she's into horses, not horsepower. ;D

My wife loves wheeling, just hates the money that is involved in building the samurai. WE've had numerous discussions about it. See, I had an 84 Toyota, which I sold for $2200 and bought a 76 CJ-7 for $1700 cause we didn't want to put money into something that we couldn't haul a family in. Well, the Heep sat. We sold it for $2k. to help get our house. I have less than a grand into my samurai, and she still complains whenever I mention money and samurai in the same sentence! I had the Toy since before we were together, and gave it up for us. Now that I want another, she fusses. But, she just mentioned a vacation in august, something about an amusement park, only 1 hour after telling me we can't spend money on the sami for a while cause we don't have it...

Oh well, I just have to lay down the law once in a while! Say "you listen here >:(, this is how its gunna be!"  8)Then run and hide for a few weeks! ::) :-* 8)
