whats the trick

ok so i finally got off my butt to change the 02 only to figure out it isnt like a normal bolt..it wont budge!!1 and there really isnt enough room to lay the wrench down flat with the 02 so it would round the damn thing off....what kind of tool can i buy to make this easy?

Start your truck, let it run for 5 mins then have a go at it.

The heat from the exhaust make the threads in the manifold expand.

Make sure you don't burn yourself though, those manifolds get damn hot.

Tough situation call for tough answers,
a 1/2" deep impact socket and an air
impact, cut the wire short (about 1")
and put the socket over the sensor,
if it will not come out, you still can hook
up the sensor with the short wire you left

buy an o2 sensor socket, its designed for that... cutting the wire works good to get it off,
and you could use a small wrench if it fits to get it back on, but i dont know how tight it'll go with a short wrench and how tight it needs to be
im cheap so if i didnt have the proper tool id just work around it

You can get an O2 sensor socket. It's a deep socket with a hole through the side in which you can pull the wire/connector through without damaging them. I'm not sure who else sells them, but I have seen them in my Snap-on catalogue.
 You could always take a perfectly good deep socket, and bore a hole through the side of it as well.(Make your own.) Hope that helps. <---Jay

i got the socket and some penetrating lube...hit the 02 twice with the lube about 30mins apart and she came out like butter =)...car runs SOOO!!!! much better now it idles so softly now i cant even tell if it is running sometimes

also it sounds different??? the engine sounds beffier now lol..dont know about that ::)

atleast you got yours out.....i tried penetration oil, heating the engine... and the thing still wouldnt come out!!!!!! so i ended up bringen it to my mechanic who couldnt believe how seized it was and it took him an hr to get teh thing out and he broke the threads...glad i did but wit the new 02 my track can kinda get out of its own way lol ... later

the engine idles beutifly..but it still has a little studder when idiling...dont know if that is normal also i think i have a hole in my cat..i can hear exh noise from UNDER the drivers door...dont know about that either

if i dont get the camaro thne its zuki moding time so might be time for the calmini exh unless wild has other ideas for the turbo =)

How much is a new o2 sensor. I am getting pretty crappy fuel mileage and I think that might have something to do with it. It runs and drives fine. but it seems a little sluggish.

the new 02 i got was a bosch universal at  kragen??? autozone?? dont remember i got it for $42 the other one had it for 52..so either way not to bad considering u will save on gas

and running rich burns out ur cat i think

I already hollowed out my cat cause it was clogged....if thats the case it was probably caused by a bad o2 sensor. I haven't got a CEL yet. Is it normal to get the cel with a bad o2?

I just found out that the size of the exhaust
system is not critical on blown/turbocharged
engines, bigger is better, so I'm going to a
2-3/4 to 3"  exhaust pipe, I also need a cat
because I melted the honeycomb matrix in
mine, so where can I find a 3" inlet/outlet
cat ???

..goto a muffler shop that has alot of full size trucks out front =) seriously lol

also doesnt it not matter because it is forced induction...so the BP wont affect the car like in an N/A setup?
