First trail ride after upgrades!
« on: May 16, 2011, 12:39:30 PM »
After spending 3 straight nights in the garage working on my Sidekick I finally got most everything worked out to make a planned trail ride with a bud this last Saturday (although I didn't have time to get the brakes bled well enough, just needed a couple pumps to stop...).

Since the last time I'd been wheeling with my Sidekick I've installed a 3" Calmini lift (replaced a 2" spacer lift), 4.24:1 gears, rear lockright locker, and misc stuff...  And boy did all those mods make a huge improvement!  With the new gears and my 31s I could slowly crawl up stuff and not need momentum!

Below are a few pics...:

P.S. The trails we went on were off of Gold Camp Road near CO Springs.

Cool Pix!!

I see the snow is still "Going Out"!!
Snow is gone for about a month now here in central Wisconsin, but it is still cold!! Frost warnings again for tonight!!!
Maybe Summer will land on a weekend here this year, if it does, more of us could enjoy it!!
(It's bad luck to bring your snow shovel in off the front porch before the 4th of July!!)

You lucky bas*#^!   ;D I used to live right there at the base of Gold Camp Rd, at the top of Cheyene Rd. I'd go trail riding to the top of Mt Baldy up the Jones Park trail before work in the mornings. Great places to wheel.

Good question. I was there for 12 years after I got out of the army, but economic realities, a woman, and the desire to stop being poor took me to the east coast. Still miss it there, still have friends there too. Soon enough I'll be able to leave here and head back west, but probably going to go a bit further south and west, New Mexico.
