why my heat/air fan only on high?

I have a 96 Geo Tracker my blower motor only works on high. Why?

The little resistor on your blower motor is bad

The fan speed is controlled by a resistor and a switch - either one of them (or the wiring) is your problem.

I had the slower speeds stop working, re-soldered the wires
onto the switch and it works again

Those are resistor wires, and the air blows over them
to keep them cooled off, otherwise they would turn
red from the heat

got it working took it apart sprayed it with electric cleaner. works great on all speeds.
