Just wondering with all the smart folks on this forum, and with the success with a VW diesel in a Samurai

Has anyone attempted to swap out a engine in the XL-7?

Has anyone attempted to change the gear ratio in the axles?

You may wonder why I ask and the answer is at your local gas station. I am tired of getting less gas mileage than a fully loaded 4X4, four door jeep with oversize tires.

Before recent events, when you thought Japanese your mind quickly equated that to exceptional gas mileage.

With XL-7's all over the world they do have a diesel version but not here in the US
