I recently picked up a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.5L Manual 4x4 with 101K on the clock. I got it for $500, replaced the clutch master cylinder, tore out the carpet (Was used to transport dogs to the park and back, hair EVERYWHERE) and replaced the battery. This thing is in great condition and because of the GREAT deal I've got some $ room to playyy
I've already ordered one of Jeff's Lifts and will pick up another 2" of body lift very soon. I'm not totally new to modifying and customizing vehicle but definitely new to Suzuki's. I've been ready for a couple weeks on here and been jotting down questions. Most of them I've found answers to and need a little help to the ones I can't seem to find. Sorry in advance if any of the questions have obvious answers or already been covered.
My goal here is to have a nice DD that's moderately equipped for light off-roading. I'll tow a trailer with a couple fourwheelers several times a year. I live in south western Ohio and it's somewhat hilly around here. I'd like to be able to drive this thing comfortably on the highway and not lose too much fuel efficiency. I'm not rich, but can throw some decent cash at this thing.
How do I know what gears are in my truck?
Were all 2.5L equipped with the same gears?
What gears can be swapped out for mine to help preform better?
What gears would you recommend for 31" tires?
Does anyone know of a good write up of a turbo build for this truck/engine?
Where the heck can I get new fender flare gaskets?
Are there any "Must Do" mods for these trucks?
Who sells a good body lift for a fair price?
I saw SRCustoms' (MUDCHILD) page. I'll probably go with them if you all reccommend them.
I'm sure I'll think of more questions to ask but for now that's all. Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
