I've been bitten by the Suzuki bug. I'm currently in a car I need to sell, but that's neither here nor there.

Here's my question: Could a Suzuki Samurai (I'd really love a tin-top) contain a 6'4, 285 pound guy? I'm probably gonna ditch the back seat (I have a dog and need to put some tools back there, as well) as soon as I get it, so If I needed to move seat rails back I could do that. I have NO fabrication experience, but I can drill a few holes, for sure.

Now to answer your question, I think you will find the fit is fine,
even for such a small vehicle.

Our fearless leader Eric is about 6' 3" or so, he should be a good

Yeah, I'm 5'17" and don't have too much of a problem in a Samurai. You actually don't have to really move the seats at all. There is a factory 'stop' in the slider channel that you can easily modify that lets you slide it back to a comfortable spot. The biggest problem is the steering wheel. I have to put in a smaller one, either aftermarket or my fav "Swift GT", so my leg doesn't get caught between it and the door when using the clutch...

Having said all of that... I definitely have more room in my Samurai(s) than I have in a 2nd gen Vitara / Grand Vitara and it's comperable to a 1st gen Sidekick/Tracker. Way more room than a CJ3a, CJ3b, CJ5, Toyota mini truck / 4runner, Early Ford Bronco, TLC FJ40, and so on.

Thanks for the answers, guys! Now I'm not so worried. Thanks for the steering wheel advice. Was looking for an aftermarket one with a flat bottom anyway.

Another question I have is... I don't see a whole buncha lights on 'Zuki's. I like lights. Is it an issue of alternator current and wiring problems? Or do Suzuki folks just hate lights? haha.

Na, it's just that the Zukes go over everything you point them at,
so you really don't need to see much of the terrain 

JK, you can fit more lights, I use some silverstar headlights and find
them actually brighter than some 100w halogen lights I put on.

You can upgrade the alternator, the Samurai I think has a 45 Amp
but there are some GM conversions that will give you more output

On a pipeline job in Nebraska &  Kansas, I had a Line Mechanic that would be my spotter,
The passenger side is "Tighter" but no steering wheel, just a "Oh, Jesus" bar above the glove box.
Now Mark Ledford, a Desert Storm Marine Vet that's 6 ft 3-4 inches tall and a good 290# of Dead Weight
(Also a Yota Off Roader) was able to get in & OUT no problems. And could ride all day long too.

I'll check on that seat stop Idea of Eric's for that passenger seat as I don't have the back seat anymore and don't need the
climb thru clearance!!........... Hey Mark, Maybe Now you can have that Full Order of Biscuits & Gravy !!!

Yeah, on that seat mod.. It'll should work on both sides. There's a little stop to remove and then make a couple more locating slots where the 'fingers' go into the series of slots on the channel... Too bad I don't have a picture.
