All the small things
« on: May 23, 2004, 05:46:19 PM »
Hey everyone, just wondering what kind of little 'gagets' and other neat little mods anyone has done with their Zuke. Whats on your key chains (other than keys!).
Today I put in a neat little 8-ball shifter. Aesthetic yes, practical... yet to be decided. I have a huge set of keys, the two distinguishing things on it being a Florida souvenir with a pic of the everglades and my little Craftsman mini wrench.

I have half a stick of old RAM on my keychain and an actual weight bearing carabiner(sp?) :)

The other day I painted the numbers on my shifter knob and laquered it... turned out pretty neat, IMO. Need to get some pics of it.

Speaking of knobs, I've been meaning
to chip out all the white stuff that shows
the shifting pattern on the 4x4 knob, and
fill in it's place some bright color silicone
so it's visable again, I don't need it to
shift the T-case, but it would look nice.

I don't know of any self respecting Canadians who don't have a bottle opener on their key chains.  Hell I got two on mine just incase one breaks.  :P

As for the little things.  I got a lot planned for mine, but I gotta hammer out some dents and lay down my new base coat first.  (flat black baby)

I'm gonna paint some camouflage flames on the front of the truck.  and some graphics on the back of the side mirrors.

Looking for some new shifter knobs.  Skulls are too cliché in my opinion.  So I want to find something a bit different.

I use to have a little toy tracker that fit perfectly in that space on top of the dashboard.  But I got rid of it because it use to always fly towards my face when ever I was doing a bumpy hill climb or the like.

I like those custom foot pedals too.  I saw one of those Foot shaped gas pedals at a store today. I may pick one up.

I also like the look of the shock botties on your pedal stems. I've seen a few trucks that have them.

Believe it or not, I have never had a bottle opener on any of my keys over the years.  And I respect myself very much so.  :P

As for me, I have a cell phone clip to the right of my instrument cluster so I can see who's calling me before I decide to answer it.  Great at night too, because when I'm blaring the Heavy Metal, I can't hear it ring, and my whole phone lights up nice.

I have spray painted the back passenger area, where the wheel wells are.  It was getting hard to clean and black paint was an easy solution to that.

I have small "Suzuki" decals with the "S" logo right above the Sidekick badge on both doors, looks very cool.  I have another small decal on the front bumper, centred, drivers side.

I replaced my original cluster because it didn't have a tach and I like the look of a tach. ;D

I repaint my rims once a year with some spray paint just to give them that new look.  I  sand off all the rust, wash them, let them dry and give them 2 coats of Tremclad or Krylon.

I want to put in a 12V socket to plug in whatever.

On My keys I have a small tag with the Suzuki "S" in red on a black background.  Took me forever to find one...only on Ebay.  *Loves Ebay*

I think that's all I can remember for now.

I have a very modest sound system.  I have a Kenwood CD head unit 45x4 watts.  Here's a pic:

I have two 100 watt Pioneer 4" speakers in the front and two Pioneer 350 watt 6x9" in the rear.

I'm going to get a more powerful head unit with MP3 playback, as that is pretty much going to be the standard.  Plus you can fit like 4-6 albums one CD in MP3 format. :o

I also wouldn't mind getting a woofer system with an amplifier just so I can get that extra power for when I am at the beach or playing hacky sack with the boys and wanna hear some tunes.

My girlfriend's step dad is like that, he hates logos on cars and trucks...well at least he used to until he got his '97 Pathfinder last year and is more or less in love with it.  I think he might change his name to Nissan.  ;D

I thought the 8-Ball shifter knob was standard on the Sami. 8)
