yet another Q...

i get a pulsing vibration in 5th gear (mostly) at 50 mph and above (2500 to 3000 rpm).  the pulse is about 1 to 1.5 sec from peek to peek.  its hard to hear over the flowmaster, header and tires.  i feel it more than anything.  have no idea if i put the drive shaft back on the way it was (no marks), though i have had it on and off 3 other times and never had this.  i know others here have had drive shaft problems so i was wondering....  o, and it seems (seems) to go away if i push in the clutch and coast... but like i said its hard to tell. :-/  thanks all.

I had the same problem, but only when
the front drive shaft was in the wrong position.
This also would only happen when the hubs
were locked in so the front shaft was turning

By wrong position, I don't mean out of phase,
I mean the front flange needed to be 180*
from where I had bolted it up.

Are your front hubs locked ??

ISN'T THAT FUNNY .......WATCHING THE NASCAR RACE AS I READ THIS, THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT ROTATING THE DRIVE SHAFT ON SOMEONES CAR TO TRY TO CURE A DRIVE LINE VIBRATION  

Ya, I would have never thought that such a simple
thing could cause a viberation like that.

After I fixed mine, I marked the Flange on the shaft
and the diff so I don't get it on wrong again, of coarse
the first time it was to change the auto tranny fluid, you
have to drop the shaft to get to the bolts to remove the
pan. I have since put a drain plug in the pan to make the
job a little easier

no front hubs locked. so i was figuring it was the rear, how fast were you going to get that vibration from the front?

well i guess i will crawl under there and start rotating, then driving, then rotating....  knowing my luck the last one will be the right one  and then i WILL mark it too.  the darn things are balanced, and we shouldnt even have this problem, how do they know how to set them at the factory?  well anyway, thanks  off to the garage.........

I have the same type of thing, only it's at around 20 mph and around 45 mph. If I push in the clutch and take it out of gear its still there. Switched out the rear tires and that wasn't it. I'm guessing its front tires or wheel bearings?

I noticed it at freeway speeds, not really
a bad feel, just could hear it, and the rear
view mirror would viberate a little too.
