Yellow Rear Shocks for GV to Match
« on: July 19, 2011, 05:50:57 PM »
I have added my longer OME front struts that are yellow and now I want to find matching yellow rear shocks for a 01 Tracker/GV with a 2 inch body lift, XL lifted springs and a 1 inch spacer.  Any suggestions, not looking for outrageous units, just quality ones for offroad - should I just spray paint???
01 Tracker - OME Springs, 2" MK1 Body Lift, Warn 6K Winch, 18x9 Wheels, Rear Roll Cage and more.  95 Tracker with all Calmini bolt ons.  96 X-90 with mini lift and Super Swampers, this one has A/C and is an auto, nice.

Doesn't OME do a rear shock for that vehicle?

I never asked, I bought them from the bits4vits.com in the UK that sells the transfer case brackets and other vitara parts, he has a post office business as well.  He did me a favor and got the front struts from Germany, sent them to him in the UK and then to me cheaper than I could get them in Florida 2 years ago.  Stupid me never asked - The truck has been sitting in a warehouse just waiting to be finished.

Let me put it this way - OME do shocks/struts and springs for the Suzuki Grand Vitara - I just assumed that the Tracker used the same parts.

I also find it interesting that you could source OME out of Europe and ship it to the US for less than you'd pay in the US - US prices (Low Range Off Road) for OME are typically lower than any other country - I figure I could buy OME there and ship it here for a lot less than I'd pay a local reseller (whose prices will be based on ARB's suggested list)

If your shocks are still good, just clean and rattle can them yellow. John Deer Yellow is a very close match to OME yellow, then you'll have some to re-paint all the parts that get boogered up from use.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

I wondered about that - the OME rear shocks go for about $82 a piece, and thay's a lot of coin just to get a yellow shock.

I don't know if these are available in the US, but, when I bought my GV it came with yellow Monroe 4x4 Adventure shocks in the rear - at least that's what the sticker says - I haven't been able to find much about them, but yesterday, when I went to pick up my Pajero from the radiator guy, there was a pickup there with Monroe 4x4 Adventure shocks on the front - those are the only two vehicles I ever seen with them.
