i have some sort of issue with my 2000 tracker
the day time running lights and dome light does not work some times
it seens the when the drl are off the dome light does not work either
and when the drl work the dome light does
and on sometimes with my foot on the brake the drl and dome flicker

is this a bad ground or a bad relay or just what?

That sounds like a bad ground or a loose power wire.  When your dome light does not work, is it just when the door is open it doesn't turn on or does it not work at all?

Your dome light grounds out to the body.  So you might have an issue with the ground to body connector on your battery. Try running a new ground wire from the negative terminal to your body.

The grounding wire from the battery to the chassis is located between the battery and the inner fenderwell and bolts to the inner fenderwell.

news
i checked the ground at the battery
i cleaned the battery and the ground on the firewall at the battery
this did not fix the issue
i went to the passanger side rear panel , behind the back seat (next to the rear door hindges) removed it
and there is a lone ground wyre
i cleaned the conection and the lights begain to work again!
i started the tracker put it in gear put my foot on the break, and the drl and dome light did not flicker

if any one else has an issue like this check that ground

Good news then.   Glad you found the fix.

the drl and dome still stobe still stobe going down the road
and the dome only seems to work when the engine is running

i have checked and cleaned every ground i can find
the day running lights aren't working at all now along with the dome light
every thing else is working fine

is there a relay or some such thing that works the drl system?

There should be a DRL module that operates the daytime running lights.  Your normal lights work properly, correct?

Good to hear that you found the issue.  Hawks Suzuki probably has one if you can't get one from your local pull apart.

what does drl control box look like and where is it?
