Master Brake Cylinder
« on: July 30, 2011, 06:50:51 PM »
I am removing and replacing my master brake cylinder.

I dis'coed the 2 brake lines and 2 nuts mounting the cylinder to the drum.

To get the cylinder off the drum do I just pull or hit it with a hammer?

Also any tricks on changing the reservoir? i read somewhere that it says i have to remove the brake pedal??? huh? Besides the post maintenance of bleeding the brakes and adding more fluid... I thought this was fairly straightforward.. just checking if am missing anything major..

It would help if we knew what vehicle your working on. By " drum" do you mean the power brake vacumme assist mounted to the firewall? Shouldn't have to remove the brake pedal for any of this, and you'll want to bench bleed the new master cylinder before you mount it, if that is what your workin on.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER
