2000 vitara electrical problem
« on: May 20, 2004, 06:54:37 AM »
hey, my parents just bought a 2000 suzuki vitara and there was a wiring harness unplugged underneath the dash on the drivers side. It appears to be some sort of immobilizer or anti-theft device, but its not working properly because once we connected it again we werent able to start the car up. Anyone know anything about these devices? It works fine with it unplugged, but I was wondering if thats something that needs to be fixed or reset or something?

The module that is unplugged is labelled as: Technicentre Plus 2000/06/7000

Leave it unplugged, it's dealer add on crap,
they install them in all the cars, and try to
talk you into buying it, but if you don't go
for the $500 or what ever they don't take it
out, so you have a theft deturent system for
free, you just need to get the remote also.

Side Note, this is a piece of crap system,
because any would be thief should know
about this cheep junk and also know to
unplug it before he steals your car.

See first line

wow thanks very much, that clears things up a ton. I looked up technicentre on the net and saw they make electronics for GM so this doesnt surprise me. Once again thanks. :)
