Hey everyone. Need a bit of help on a topic that I don't know to much about.

I own a 95 model Suzuki Vitara swb. It's a great box of fun but unfortunately the diffs are to low to the ground and I've been hung up a few times and have to get winched off. Apart from that it is just about a go anywhere car. My stomping grounds is the top end of Australia and there's allot of tracks just a short drive out of the city.

I'm going to be ordering a 3' super articulation system from calmini. (gettin it from America cause Australia is just way to expensive. Over double the price!!!)

Now I realise that just lifting the suspension isn't going to solve my problems of my diffs getting hooked up. I'm gonna get tyres as well but am at a loss as to go 31' or 33' tyres. Would I need to Cut my wheel arch's (fenders?) To fit the 33's on and what are the pro's and cons of the tyre sizes? I can also consider putting on a body lift to help fit the 33's on.

If anyone has a vitara with 31' tyres (and I'm sure theres plenty), Can you please tell me how your Suzi is going?

Also is anyone else having trouble with there swb zook having a mind of it's own at reasonable speed's on corrugated dirt roads? I've tried adding a bit of weight in the rear (ie, tool box full of recovery gear) but I don't want to try putting sand bags in it to try and keep the ass end where its meant to be cause there would be no point in buying a swb zook then.

So guys if you have any suggestions as to what I can do to my pride and joy I'd like to hear from you. Cheers.

Ok reading through the other forums I'm starting to get the drift of whats happening. I'm thinking I'll still get the 3' calmini suspension lift, Go for 31' tyres, Ome shocks and struts and wheel spacers. Now is all this going to stop the 31's rubbing on the guards or am I going to have to opt for a body lift (how much?) or do some cutting of the fenders? I'd prefer not to start hacking up the body if possible but if it's a better option then I'lll consider it more. Any help is much appreciated guys and gals. Cheers

I went with the Altered Ego lift kit, it is similar to the calmini, but goes much further(costs more), a canadian company. It pushs the front wheels forwards by 1.5" and kicks the rear back another 1-1.5".

I am absolutely amazed at the additional stability on the fast washboard fire roads, no bump steer or dartiness and it soaks up the washboard ripples like no ones business, and I have yet to reinstall the front sway(probably will not) and it clears the upgraded brakes from the 4dr sidekick/tracker without any issues.

I have another rear axle that will get the bottom shaved. And I do plan on snagging a set of the Calmini bottom skid plates.

Ok checkd out the alt ego lift kit. Gonna go for the 4.5 lift. (why go the 3 when they offer the 4.5)
The extra cost is sure to be worth it after the write up i read.
Now I have a friend who is an absolutemotor head. You should se his sammy. I think it's about 10' lift with all the mods to be able to run 37's and suzuki Australia is building him an engine!! He's a fabricater by trade so he's got the time and the money to spend.
He's going to be giving me a hand with whatever I need to get my car up to my standerd.

What will I also need to purchase in the way of brakelines etc or do's it already come with this kit? Hoping to install this kit in a day and dont want to be running around getting parts that I may have over looked. Cheers guys

You never mentioned what gearbox you have, manual or auto. Either way going to a 31" tire or larger is going to hurt your acceleration and power overall. You might want to consider also changing your diffs to something lower to compensate for the bigger tires.

Good shocks will make a huge difference in how your rig handles.   You should look at some of the Zukiworld challenge rigs to see what we run. 

Longer lower links makes a large difference.

I shaved my converted front diff., and used a little more heat than I should have, causing it to warp a little.  It took a lot of work to get it back straight so it would seal without oil leaks.  It really doesn't look like much gain for the work involved, and would have been easier and more effective to go to a two inch larger tire (getting 1" lift everywhere).
