I think it looks great. I've seen a 2012 Ultimate Adeventure GV in "White Water Pearl" with the 18" wheels (in a gunmetal grey color) and I love the looks. At 3,479 lbs., it's a good amount of weight haul around with 166 hp. It also doesn't come with low range; only the Limited does.

Not a hard-core wheeler, but still a nice-looking truck, IMHO.

How in the hell did it get so bloated?  3,500lbs?!  My 1999 GV with a 2.5 V6/4wd weighs 3200lbs.

The new truck is larger than a 1999 in just about every dimension except for height.

1999 GV 4x4 4door       2010 GV 4x4 Premium
width      70.1                            71.3
Height     68.5                             66.3
length    164.6                           177.2

I can see how the new trucks would weigh more, most never versions do.

I posted a similar comment on a different forum about this, it just doesn't seem to have much substance to make it a totally seperate designation for the GV line.  I think it would have been better to make it a factory option package rather than a entirely different model.

Yes, the new one is also unibody though-so it should be lighter!

I also think that is too much weight for a 2.5 4-cyl that makes 166hp.  I even think my GV is a little underpowered and I will probably install a 2.7 block when the time comes for a new engine.

I would totally agree that the current GV is underpowerd with the 2.4l 4cylinder.  As an owner of one, I sure wish i could have found a left over 2010 3.2l v6.

Even with the unibody, there are some pretty substainal subframes that are under there.  I'm sure most of the added weight is in the form of electronics, safety features, and sound deadening materials.  It's still a decent little package and very much on par with the softroaders weights.

If they are going to call it an Ultimate Adventure it should look a lot more like Mikes
truck that he went on the Ultimate Adventure in, not that bloated boat.

2.7 V6, at least a couple of inches lift, some 31" tires and put a MT or at least an AT
tires on it, hang a spare tire on the back with a gear holding roof rack with off
road lights, like some cool HID or LED ones

This thing looks worse than a trail rated Heep, ugh, Suzuki has lost it's roots, and
is leaving the market with no serious off road capable vehicle, at least offer an equipped
version of the same vehicle, the difference in the two models might even get the casual
buyer to "step up" to the equipped one because of it's much more macho appearance
instead of a cloned soccer mom SUV that is available from just about every other manufacturer
in the United States

I agree.  It looks pretty lame for offroading to me.  What a joke.

The only hope is for them to bring over the Samurai/Jimny pickemup truck that they hinted at a few months back.  Hell, bring this thing over for now.

The better idea for Suzuki is to take the basic LWB Samurai from India....widen the body 6" and lenthen the front end, add airbags for new crash standards
-install a coil suspension F/R
-open up the sheetmetal wheel arches for 31"-32" tires stock
-stuff the GV 2.4 four cylinder in it
-mate the old Sidekick or Toyota 8" Aisin diffs with 30 spline axles.

Then offer the a 4:1 case stock, ARB lockers or eq, 32" MTs for the offroad package.

We will never see that vehicle for sale in the US.  At least not to the general public.  It is too bad, I think they could easily steal some new sales from Jeep if they could bring it here for the right price point.

My brother is taking deliver of a new 2012 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon this week.  He is getting the 5" lift and 35" tires put on at the time of delivery.  Even the utilitarian Jeep has gotten soft and is loaded with features these days.  And at $40k, it is well beyond the average off-road enthusiast.

I know we won't, which is a real shame.  Suzuki has stated that they don't want to compete against Jeep. ???

Oh, I could afford a new Jeep JK, but I'm just too frugal....ok, cheap.  :D  I just think Suzukis spank them offroad and I don't have to worry about scrapes, dings etc and all the mechanical weak points new Jeeps have.

I think Suzuki could easily market a base vehicle like I described for around $20,000.  Then, if you wanted the offroad package, it might cost $3k more.  Still a lot less than a Jeep.
