Where to get a good Highflow cat from?
« on: May 12, 2004, 11:43:08 PM »
No, not a fast animal!  ::) ;D

I'm looking for a catalytic converter.

Are they all the same(normal Vs. Highflow) Like the same thing but different name so you pay more for a "highflow".  ??? I'd like to get a new cat into a dual output setup for my Tracker.

Any suggestions?

Theres tons of them on eBay.How do you plan on mounting a flange to it to connect to the down pipe?
I thought about getting a 2.25 cat and going all the way back 2.25. Right now mine has the stock V6 cat and a straight through glass pack and 2" tailpipe. The only thing holding me back is the flange situation. I'm gonna gut my stock one first and see if it makes a difference. ;D

I never said that I did it... just vaguely explained the process of doing so :P

But yes, you can get them from Calmini, Summit, a local exhaust place probably, and many other vendors...

To get the full advantage, put on a header w/ the cat.

Your local muffler shop can make flanges & build a 2" exhaust for about 2 bills, w/o the cat. The Calmini one bolts up to stock or 2" exhaust... sorta.

If you remove/disable your cat, don't *ever* take your car in for inspections or service work. One Midas dealer (in TN) would inspect every car, then "hold it for ransom" until the owner paid a big bill. (Per my brother, who worked there for a while.)
