where to get spring lift?
« on: May 11, 2004, 02:40:22 PM »
well my car is together and running!  running great!  after 6 months of down time.  will try to have some pics this weekend.  but............ always a butt somewhere....
after i put on my front bumper the front droped about 1.5" cause the dang thing weighs aobur 200lbs.  now my tires rub, blah, blah, blah.

so where is the best place to get coil spacers that can get me by till this fall when i will be getting my 3" lift?  i alread cut the fender wells out as much as i want to so this is where i am going for now.  if you could please provide a link that would be very helpful.  (the only ones i know about are the rocky road ones)

and i am going to get either the EZ camber bolts or the ones from ebay....  what do ya all think?  THANKS

*sigh*  update, i was just sulking at my car and decided to measure it.  putting on the front bumper lowered the front 2.75"!!  maybe i should be looking for different springs instead?  anyone know an excact swap that i could go to the junk yard and ask for that would give me 2"+, i dont have time or $$ for trial and error :-[

*sigh*  will it ever end..........?  thanks agian :P

i remeber sombody saying a cheep lift for the trac/kick was to use vitara springs. they said it made it ride rougher but that means stiffer spring. do a search for ceap lifts or vitara spring to kick. i'm sorry i don't rememberaxactly what it was listed as. good luck.

The springs are Grand Vitara.  i think they are about a 2in lift.  i don't think they would ride as stiff with all of your stuff. you could also put coil spacers on for an added lift.  their was a section on this on the home page.  you might want to look in the artical archives for it.

You can use the grand vit springs in the front and jeep
TJ front springs in the
rear for a 3" lift. Worked for me and i have a ford f350 front end on my kick with a pro 9000 ramsey. (and spring spacers up front too.)

well after a bit of searching i see that rocky road sells spacers and heavy duty front springs, for tracker and GV.  so i am going to call them tomorrow and see what they have to say and how much lift i can get out of that combo.  any comments on this? ???
