95 Sidekick 16v 5 speed 4x4...  I'm in the process of dropping a new motor in my truck and I've had issues with the power steering pump.  I'm running 235/75's and the pump wasn't working and it was easy enough to steer.  If I remove the power steering pump and the related lines from the truck, would it affect the steering box or any other components?  I'm also wondering if anybody has converted to a manual steering box, and how it was done?

For safety reasons it's probably a good idea to convert to the manual steering box if you don't want to replace the pump. I have no idea of the longevity of the PS gear if used manual. It's not designed to be un-boosted indefinitely but if you keep P-steering fluid flowing through it you should be able to get by for now.
On the other hand the PS pump isn't extremely expensive and it's really easy to change. It's worth having, especially on the trail and doesn't add too much weight or complexity.

Using a power steering box in non-power steering mode will likely make it steer harder than just using a manual steering box.
If you want to convert to a manual box you need the manual box and the steering shaft (the PS and MS shafts are different lengths).
