I'm almost near completion of having all Calmini's upgrades done and now I wonder since I've gotten this far should I replace the 1600 8 Valve - High Torque Cam & Kit, Higher Compression, Larger Valves made by Hugh Reynolds to his race version that is a 1.6 8 Valve High Performance - for use with my Headers and my Modified Carbs and get a fully ported head then upgrade the transmission from a three speed automatic to a four speed automatic. And would the XL-7 4 spd auto work with what I have? I have priced this future modification at 5 grand. This would bring the total of my investment to about 13 grand. Also noted that this is a "Show N' Tell" Trucklet that is mostly used as a black-top crusier and at rare time's an off roader. ( I have this fear of having another gran-maul siezure and really screwing the truck up again, plus losing my license to drive too boot. )   :-/  

How much extra power do they claim after the engine mods are done? At a 5G price tag, I would think you clould do a XL-7 V-6 and the Trans that mates to it :-/

I never bothered to ask how many ponies it would have, and as for a V-6 I can get more horse power from a 4 banger then what the V-6 would put out plus pay much less at the pump since I prefer using super unleaded. I also like the power to rate ratio a 4 banger maintains. Beside money hasn't been an issue for me yet. knock-wood
