thanks ! from what it looks like this forum is more for people who need help with their car other then knows alot about it .i find it funny that their are so many people asking the same damn question over and over and over  . other then that i haven't found any "real cool" samurais out their that inspire me to want to keep going with my build.  with whats done now i leave jeeps landcruisers/rover  toya whatever any pick up they all suck  no one can keep up my samurais in the trail. i haven't rock climbed it yet but i don't think that will be a prob at all . ;D the best thing so far was some hipster rolling up next to me in front of 7/11  in his  stock jeep wrangler and said "nice jeep man " i was like its not a jeep ! Barbie called and shes wants her jeep back

Dude, don't go there....
I love my Zuke But it's a Zuke . My FJ40 will out wheel it in some situations. My Cj5 Will out do it in the sand. My Wagoneer will out pull it. It has more to do with how it's prepped for the trail by the owner. A stock Zuke will not out perform a stock FJ-40. I'm sorry.....

I haven't got a new pic. of the YOTA ...And my Wag is in the paint shop. But I'm sure its not needed....Boxcar

 Back from paint...

well by the way it looks both of your zukis could use better tires like the ones on your jeep. thats just a start ! Dont get me wrong i know jeeps have made their mark in the off road world. i see more jeeps than anyother 4x4 used for off road ! I take my samurai out every weeksend on the same trails i take my 4x4 atv on ! The trails are tight and i can get from point a to point b way faster then any of my friends in their jeeps or yotas ! mainly their are just to wide/long .  please tell me why its better in sand  ???

That's a nice ride 94.  I think a Zuk looks good in black.

You've got a nice lil Zuk build goin on...

I've built alot of trucks and this Samurai is a fun build too. It is comparable to a 78 CJ7 I did although the Zuk has a definate weight advantage. It's mostly how you build them in comparison to what you want to do and expect in return.

J/M $.02.....

Just a heads up on Shrockworks... check on lead times for the bumpers before you take your old ones off and get rid of them. I sold my old ones and then found out they were backed up 4 months on the new ones ...

Good stuff ! I used to live, breath, eat, and sleep bikes....
I bought a new Ducati 996 and rode it for years, everything from track days, canyons and even commuted for awhile on it. I decided to down size the bike collection a couple years ago and the only thing I have left is a '07 KTM 525 EXC setup for supermoto with a set of Pilot Powers on Marchesini wheels. Awesome bike but too easy to get into trouble on it.

Well lets see. The pic of my Zuke is with my tar baby tires on it. I run LTB,s off road but they suck on road....
The CJ 5 and the sand question ??? try 401 Harlen sharp stoker and the weight and length to handle 500 hp....
Dude, I'm not beating up on my own Zuke....I just don't subscribe to the idea that it's the best 4x4 ever made.
It's my favorite trail rig though.  That's what I built it for. Well, It's also my version of the perfect economy rig. (tar baby tires)
I wheel with a bunch of old timers as well as young guys. Most of them drive Jeeps. A few drive FJ-40 s. I (depending on the situation) drive my Zuke. We all end up at the same place at the end of the day....I will say, I got a lot of SH.T when I first built the little bugger. Not so much any more. I've had to winch most of them out a time or two.
Again . It's all what you build, not what you started with...
Today was the first trip out to the woods after completely rebuilding my Zuke because I thought it sucked as it was...
After SPOA, long travel shock conversion, track bar, disk brake conversion, drivelines, transfercase mount, high steer, shackles,
CJ 5 Zuke hybrid springs, cam, flowed head, carb conversion, header, 2" exhaust, flowmaster, 5.12 gears, lockers, T case re gear, Bumpers, exo cage, winch, and probably another $1000 of things I can't think of right now. It's finally IMHO a great trail rig.
Better than every one Else's. Not by a long shot.......Boxcar...

I would have loved to have a CRF450X supermoto !!
I also think a Service 500 would make an awesome hooligan bike but might kill a person in the process....
Out here in CA it is hard to get a plate on a dirt bike, so when KTM came out in 2007 with a plate on the EXC, I jumped on it.

I had thought about trying to get into the motorcycle industry but ended up in the car industry (for awhile).
I really like wrenching on bikes but not enough $$$ in it for me to do it for a living, so I just help out buddies now.
