I can get a stinking good deal on a  2" Calmini kit for the 89-98 trucks. I'm wondering if the control arms from this kit would fit onto my '00 Vitara?

I'm thinking they are different, samuraidan.  1st gens were longer and 2nd gens shorter... because of a slight difference in frame width (hence the Sidekick Sport with fewer aftermarket parts) but then if it is really a "stinking good deal" then buy them and try them and if they don't work pass on your stinking good deal to someone else with a 1st gen truck.  All it will take is your time, some elbow grease and maybe a replacement bolt or two.  Or.... maybe they are close enough that you could mod them with some custom cutting and welding?

I've never measured it, but, I always thought it was the other way around - the second gen's are not just a wider frame, the entire vehicle is wider.

Yes, what Fordem said.  I meant a wider frame on the 2nd gen trucks.

Thanks for the responses guys. I thought it would be a long shot but it was worth asking. I think I'll pass on the lift kit this time; I'm busy enough with my upcoming body lift instal.

It's too bad Calmini (or anyone for that matter) doesnt sell the control arms separately.
