Might be a good idea for the first person into the Taylor area to post a conspicuous roadside sign somewhere (could be as simple as a paper plate attached to a bush).  It could include a camp location or other pertinent information.  I plan on being in the area Saturday night.  Anybody going to be camping in that area before then?

I will be rolling in Sunday late morning/early afternoon and I should make the picnic.

I'm planning on leaving in the wee hours of Sunday morning so I can get there before the 2pm meeting/BBQ.  I'm so excited about this trip!

I am not sure when we are going to make it down to the TPR area.  But we should be able to meet you there Sat night.   Maybe there is a bulletin board at the trading post.

The shop in Fairplay has my brakes fixed and I will pick it up tomorrow.   My Jets are going to arrive Friday or Sat so I will be in Placer Valley/Alma area until then.

Today we had a great day bumming around in Breckinridge and taking a easy but very scenic loop back to our friends house.

Altitude in MN about 500' so the chance to acclimate to these altitudes is very good for us old flat landers.

I asked Eric to send out my cell number so feel free to call and leave a msg.  I will respond ASAP.

Or it could be established that we meet at the Trading Post Cafe at 9 AM Monday Morning.

But it looks to me like a lot of the trails are south and east of the Trading Post so some folks might not want to go out of their way.

I think we will have a better idea of what is happening after the BBQ on Sunday.

Camping gear is ready!  I'm ready to spend a week in the mountains.

Right. All we have to do is hope cell phones work.

Anyone want to throw out a CB channel for use?

In the desert we use the day of the month as our CB channel.  It makes it easy for everyone to remember,If they know the date.

I don't have a CB But I am hoping to find a fairly conspicuous camp site to the east or north of the reservoir.   I don't have a CB so i won't be able to communicate that way.  I will probably be headed to the TPR tomorrow,  since my carb jet kit isn't going to make it to CO anytime soon (my fault).   I will keep an eye out for Suzuki oriented people and try and find cell service.

FYI:

I  have a 96 Dodge 4x4, silver, big front bumper, and a hard side camper on back.  Sammy is white with 33" tires.

Well, I made it from PA to CO.  Arrived in Leadville CO this evening.   I am camping in the state park next to Turqoise Lake.  Plan to be here tomorow night as well if anyone want to join me. First time using my cell phone as a modem.  Pretty cool.  After 3 days of hard driving tomorow will be a rest day.

I like the Trading Post idea on Monday, as I won't be rolling in until later on Sunday (I don't drop my kids off till 3 and then have a couple hours drive over). If I could get a shout out from someone Sunday night as to the what's what I would really appreciate it.

Hi Guys,

I won't be able to make it.  Family issues will be keeping me at home this weekend and next week.

It makes me really sad, I had all of my stuff ready to go and now I'm going to miss out on this great trip.

Have fun guys, lift a cold one for me.
