That is an awesome picture and I'm really sad I was not able to attend the trip like I planned.  I can't wait to see more pictures of the trip.

Looks like fun! Wish I coulda gone this year, I thought I mightve been able to but other things have popped up for me (like trying to find a better job) If this is a yearly thing I will def make the trip next year!

I should think that among all of us Colorado locals we could make it an annual event.

I am down  :) I should be more prepared next year but for us Coloradians, we don't have to wait a year lol

Just got home a few minutes ago; it's 3:00AM and I have been driving for the last 22 hours!  I have around 2000 pictures from the trip; I will be sorting them and posting them to a photobucket account.  I'll provide that link in the coming week or two, but here is my favorite picture from the trip (so far).  It is a pic of Eric driving the Equator down Black Bear Pass into Telluride.  It looks like we were driving right off of a cliff...

Awesome view!

We had a great time! Thanks to everyone that came out for a trail ride. It was nice to meet new people and see ol' friends. Article in progress...

Can anyone put names to faces or vehicles in the pictures?

I'll let people post their own names/vehicles...

I'm Matt (sewerzuk) in the black exo-caged Samurai, affectionately dubbed "Aileen" (or i-lean) during this trip.
It was its first trip out after some major work...perhaps a bump in spring rates and/or sway bars are in order.
My rig is a fusion of Jazz and Funk; I call it JUNK

Herrrrres Jonny!

...and here is the 1987 Samurai that I took out there.  It's basically a leftover's build that I installed a bunch of old and well used parts on.  The drivetrain/suspension mods are limited to a GRSII transfer gear set, 3" Deaver springs, dropped pitman and some 10+ yr old, 30" Firestone ATs.   :o  It performed very well out on the trails and I'm glad I took it out there, instead of a more built rig.  The carb loaded up a little on the secondary, but it seems that once I went through all the Oklahoma formulated gas, it started to run much better.

Looking forward to next years CO run!

I am so bummed about missing this.  I had no idea this was going on or I would have been there.  It's only a short 3-4 hour drive for me from Denver.  I love the Taylor Park area.  I had my '87 Sammi down there in July for a week and am going down again over labor day weekend.  I'm totally bummed!  George, keep your eyes open will ya'!

I'm looking for Samurai enthusiasts in the Denver metro area anyone.  Anyone out there from this area?  I don't do a lot of 'Heavy' four wheeling with my Sammi because it is stock but I'm sure having a ton of fun with it since I picked it up and got it going.

I'd sure be interested in finding people around here to ride with.  Shoot me an email harpgeorge|removethispart|@gmail.com or I'll try to keep a closer eye on this site.

Please take a look at my 'Travels with Sammi' blog so you can see the type of four wheeling I've been doing and enjoy doing:

http://www.travelswithsammi.blogspot.com/

Like I said, I'll be in Taylor over the labor day weekend and then in Moab at the end of September.
88 Suzuki Samurai, 6.5:1 Trail Gear T-Case, Stage 2 clutch, Weber 32/36 Carb (problematic). Everything else is stock.

Link up with Khodabear and Roy.  They are both nearby and drive stock Sidekicks.

Help me out here....

Not sure how to use this site...   How do I find Khodabear and Roy.  Is there a place on this site to look up members?

JR,

I see that you have all the parts in place to lower the windshield on this Sami.  Do you ever lower it?  I'm trying to get a rough idea of what parts I want to have when I get a Sami and what parts are going to be a waste of time.

Thanks for the email addresses.  It sounds like both of you guys have much newer outfits than my $400 '87.  I may not be able to keep up with you 'fuel injection' guys.

Although she does a pretty good job considering she's 100% stock except for the paint job my daughter did for me for father's day.

Here are a couple photos of her.  One all shined up in the driveway.  One on top of Cumberland pass outside of Taylor Park and one on Slaughterhouse trail down at Taylor Park.

Maybe we need to get together for a 'not-to-agressive' ride before the snow moves in.  What do you think?
