Amazing wheeling today!
« on: April 18, 2004, 05:15:00 PM »
Went wheeling up a local mountain today and had the most fun in my life.

The truck took a bit of a licking, but the drivetrain held up very well.

The stuff we did was crazy!

There where a few times where I had a tire 3ft in the air. Or was crawling off camber in a ditch where the dirt was falling into my window.  ;D

I never brought my camera with me,  but the guy who I went wheeling with took some pics so hopefuly I'll be able to post some up within the next few hours. (don't know when he's gonna send them my way)

I learnt a few new things today.

1) lockers kick major ass!

2) Sidekicks are hard to tip.  I thought I was gonna go over a few times today, but she held strong.

3) I need to raise my gas tank ASAP!

4) Lockers kick major ass!

Oh ya, Biker.  Do you still have that other mirror handy.  :-[  :P

Cool!

We went up on the local ridge road last night, and got around a corner, when lo and behold some guy, his girlfriend, and kids were stuck in an Explorer in the snow! They had taken everything out of the truck, planning to stay the night there because they thought no one would show up!

Well, we did... and the four door pulled him out!  :o

Lockers and gears rule!

I am glad your guy's wheelin was enjoyable. I went up with a buddy of mine yesterday and he proceeded to get his full size Chev royally high center on this berm with in 10 min of keaving the main road. So to make a long story short I tried to winch him off and proceed to rip my front bumper off and when it did, part of it put a crack in my radiator. All four bolts that hold the bumper on sheared off and the ubolts were bent to hell. Then later my tow strap broke when we finally got another fullsize up there. The kicker is 5 hours  after he got stuck we finally got him out and then he proceeds to give me sh*t about my bumper delema. He was all "yeah I would have been out of here along time ago if some ones bumper would stay on" and then later he says he had a good time >:( >:( >:(. No appreciation for anything. The radiator is gonna cost me 125 and another 40 to get the bumper fixed, if any fo you need welding or exhaust done and are in souther oregon I know a great place to go.  Anyway theres my beef i just had to vent. So to cheer my self up  :D i just bought a 800w amp and matching sub to rock out in the Kick with ;D Hope Yall have a good one :).

Jacob

Oh Another guy took some pic I will post them as soon as I get them.

Oh Another thing I got lockers comin as soon as i can get time to put them in. Also the Kick has turned into a joint project with my dad and I and he is thinkin of putting in an Anvil up front ;D So better days are comin ;)

Nah unfortunately he can't send them to me until he gets back to his other computer in Victoria.  He said maybe tomorrow, or wednesday.

Jo was driving a Suzuki LJ80 which he flipped while playing in a ditch.

He never got hurt, it was pretty funny to watch. I got a good picture of him laying on top of the truck while it was on its side.

The good thing about Zuks is that they are so d|removethispart|@mn light that two of us pulled it back on its wheels with a tow strap while he drove it out.  ;D

The least he could do would be to buy
you a Calmini front bumper, that way
next time he gets stuck you can get
him out   ;)

The bumper it self is fine i think, just the bolts that hold it on sheared off. The radiator was fine untill he walked up (after the bolt shearing) and flipped it to free spool with it was still under load and then the bumper snaped down farther and tagger the radiator. I was anchored to a tree with my strap so that why there was still tension on the line.

Then you didn't use the extra mount
holes for more frame strength, beef
that dude up and jerk his bumper off

The bumper was on there when I bought the rig. Extrat mount holes? Right now it is held on to 4 bolts 2 to each side and 2 ubolts on the bottom.

Ya check out the Calmini site, I think I read
that they have an extra somthing that adds
like 2 or 4 more bolts for winching strength.

I just scanned it and didnt see any thing extra you can buy though. I might have missed it. I though of welding it on, but I would rather shear a both that tweak the frame. Any thought on that? ???

The bolt he is tightening and the one right below it are the ones that sheared off (on both sides though) and the lower ubolts you can kinda see are all tweaked out.
