89 1.6 8 valve distro on a 1.6 16 valve

I'm in the process of converting my 92 sidekick 1.6 16 valve to carb.  I just ordered an 89 1.6 8 valve distro and base off e-bay.  Anybody had any experience with installing the 8 valve distro on the 16 valve?

Not sure if it works but can I ask why you are doing a carb on that?

1994 Kick, 16v,header.2.5" exhaust,ported MAF,home made mufflers, K&N filter,5" lift with jeep LJ front springs on the rear and Ford ranger springs on front with 2 3/4 spacers,OME struts with 3" strut spacers,31/10.5 Hankook Dynapro MT on 15x7 black D's.

They are not interchangable. They rotate in oposite directions.
