Soft top and broken tension straps
« on: May 15, 2012, 01:08:20 PM »
I just bought a Smittybilt top for my samurai for my road trip up California. Almost as soon as I got on the freeway, those cheap aluminum excuses for connectors snapped. They were pulled tight before I got on the freeway too.

Any way, does anyone have suggestions for replacing them? I was thinking carabiner (spelling?) Or possibly key rings. Also there are smudges on my new windows. Ill post pictures later.

Thanks!

bummer about the clips- did they come with the top?
i think the less you wipe clean those windows the better you are, and when you clean them use soft cotton cloths and very little mild detergent. they scratch real easy.
figure they will start clouding in a year or so.
i recently got a bestop. pleased so far.
on a kick, but similar materials i suspect.
going up coast or inland?
'89 kick w/little motor, still got pieces of jeff's pucks, stan's sticks into 4.24:1 tcase, 31x10.5x15's, rear lockrite, kick power steering, some radios(kj6esv), bmw seat, other changes just because. done on the cheap.
