86 Samurai/96 x90 hybrid

Hey guys,

Did a ton of reading on here last night, and saw some very impressive builds.  I just bought an 86 samurai and a rolled VERY low mileage x90.  The 90 has a brand new clutch, is 4x4, and runs amazing.  It has the 16v 1.6 motor.

I am torn between trying to use the whole 90 drivetrain in the samurai, or just swapping the 1.6 to the sami with the petroworks kit.  The tranny in the x90 shifts so smooth its one of the main reasons Id like to use it.

Anyway, Im up for suggestions either way.  I know Ill need to tear the dash apart on the 90 to get the wiring harness out, and I downloaded the modification guide for the harness to retrofit it into the sami.  Since I have the complete running x90, it should be an easier swap.

The X90 running gear would be a lot of work to get into a Sammy, it would be much easier to use the adapter kit. Which instructions did you download? the X90 wiring is pretty much the same as a 16V Track/Kick but quite different from the 8V.
