To  nc_zuk:

What did you end up doing with the driveshafts? Did you run into any problems with the front shocks being too long? Are you running a skid plate for the t-case? Did you powder coat all of the control arms orange to match the rig? Any problems at full flex with the tires rubbing the body?
It sure looks like you have done it all! I hope mine looks (and works) as good as yours.
Thanks again for the advise. :)

I have the RRO KAD drive shafts and have never had a problem.

The front shocks work perfectly and I have had no problems with them. Same with the rear. I did recently break a rear upper shock mount bolt but I put in a new mount today.

I used cans of spray paint to paint all my control arms. That way I can touch them up every couple of months. With powder coat you can't do that.

I don't have a t-case skid but am currently building my own t-case bucket. I hope to have it done soon.  ;)

As for rub, I do have minor rubbing on the front fenders. I was in a serious bind one day and the bogger grabbed the plastic fender flare and flung it across the trail. No biggie, I put it back on today. I am going to figure a way to prevent that from happening again though  :-/

Anything else?

You have the larger flange KAD shafts, right?  (your grille looks like 94-95) How did the flange holes come through? Mine looked like they attempted to file out the smaller bolt pattern to match the larger post 1988 pattern. I'm just curious because I wasn't real happy about having to open up the holes properly just so I could mount the shafts.

Also, are your frnt shock towers stock or aftermarket?

Thanks, Ron

Believe it or not it is my daily driver. I drive it 20 miles each way to and from work. It sees about 250-300 miles a week. It does pretty well on the road but it does have a bit of body roll. I have grown accostumed to it though and have learned how to drive the lean  ;D I enjoy driving it a LOT!!!  ;)

Actually it is an 87. I just got a later model Grille since they are so sexy  ;) I have the small flanges and didn't have any issues.

I use the RRO front shock towers along with the longest DT shock made. It flexes well to say the least

LOL, yea that was the very first day i had ever driven that thing. It got disassembled about a week later and then it was painted orange. I actually bought it out of a Junkyard and it took me 18 months to build it as I was deployed all aver the world shooting bad guys  ;D
