Rerouting vacuum lines on a Samurai 1.3, need some help
« on: June 16, 2012, 04:54:53 PM »
Hey all,

I'm trying to reroute my vacuum lines and I'm following this guide:  http://www.acksfaq.com/Samvacuumlines.htm

I think I'm pretty much there, but there are a few pieces which I can't figure out.  If anyone could clue me in, that would be super helpful!  I've highlighted the ones that are confusing me in the attached images.

In the first picture the circle on the right is the idle up dash-pot for the a/c. The line goes from the dash-pot to the vacuum switch on the firewall on the left side of the picture.

The circle on the left is the erg vacuum modulator. The line goes from the modulator to the inside of the red connections on the BVSV shown on the right side circle in picture two.

The upper circle in picture two goes to a tee connection. One side of the tee goes to the distributor and the other goes to the outside red connection of the BVSV.

The middle circle in the second picture is the ERG valve. A line goes from there to the bottom of the VSV.

The circle in the last picture connects a line to the bottom of the air cleaner. That should do it. All these connections are shown in the Ack's faq on vacuum lines......

Great, thanks so much!  It was hard to discern this stuff from the guide.

I have three more questions:

1.  Which connection on the firewall vacuum switch does the idle up dashpot for the AC connect to?
2.  Where does the other connection on the firewall vacuum switch connect to?
3.  For the tee connection that routes to the BVSV, you mentioned that the other end goes to the distributer but I can't see a connection on it.  Can you describe it/it's position?

Thanks again, much appreciated.

1. The line from the A/C idle up dash pot goes to the inside port on the switch.

2. The line on the other port of the switch goes to the port on the intake manifold next to the PVC valve.

3. On the side of the distributor is the vacuum advance dash pot with a port. That's where the line attaches.
