X-90 Handling issue
« on: July 27, 2012, 08:44:43 PM »
Well guys, my son gave me back the original red X-90 that I got from Zukipilot(for reference, see my avatar pic). Just to recap, it's still running 1-1/4" wheel spacers and a full Calmini 2" lift kit. My son(and his mother before him) weren't very gentle with her, but I think she can be saved. She still runs great.

Current problem though is with the handling. It's eating front tires quickly, especially left front, inside edge. Wheel bearings and tie rod ends seem tight, I haven't jacked it up to check the ball joints yet. It seems kind of twitchy on the road, like it's turning in or hooking, most noticable to the right, but does it both directions. What would you guys think it could be? In other words, what part of the suspension/steering do I need to look the closest at?

If I can get this thing back in shape without too much problem, I think I might have a new daily driver...
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

Sounds like it needs an alignment and camber correction, could be a whanky centerlink as well. Also check the idler arm on the pass side for weakness.

I agree
Adding a brace to bottom of idler arm will prevent this from bending.
Also check that the steering box is tight.
