I have a 87 stock 1.3L samurai that had a blown head gasket.  When I took the head bolts out only some of the bolts had washers.  Anyone know if they are supposed to be on all the bolts??

They all should have washers.   
Since some didn't, that is kinda odd....because from what I recall, the washers will not fit over the threads on the bolts.  So the washers would have to be cut or "threaded off", to remove them.

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of rebuilds are done half-assed.
