Purchase an aluminum LWB body and stretch the frame!  You oughta have the money from working on the pipeline.
35 years of Samurai ownership, and I still have my very first one. :)

Just drive or flat tow your rig across, jetison the old body, and slap the new one on.  Easy Peasy!   ;)

I think you need to think outside of the box and find a way to do it, instead of just being completely negative about the suggestion.  (Being positive, innovative and flexible was something I quickly learned during my 10+ years in the Army.   ;)  )  Replacing a Samurai body is not hard at all and can be done in a driveway by a couple of guys in an afternoon.

If I lived in the rust belt, I would be all over one of these aluminum bodies.

http://www.aqualu.com/suzuki-samurai-bodies.html

I met the Aqualu guys at the Moab Easter Safari in 2011. They had actually hauled down a LWB Samurai body from Canada for a customer, so they appear to be very accomodating and eager to please their customers.  I'm sure that they could recommend several shops around the area where you could rent a floor space for a day, if not their shop.  I have personally rented shop floor space for a project, so don't say it can't be done.  I've also hauled Samurai bodies to the steel recylcler and made money off of them.  I'm sure that you could find somebody that would haul off the old body for free.  Especially with the price of steel being what it is.

If you really want to save money, see if you can locate a Suzuki fan that is local to that shop area where you can do the swap.  Again, I have swapped bodies before-two people can lift up and remove a stripped body.  It's a very easy swap.

I have actually flown to a new area, where I didn't know anyone and didn't have any resources, and purchased/pieced together a broken down Samurai within 24hrs of arriving. It can be done.

1st, c3006

YES !!! if it's the one pictured,
Now where are you to see if I can afford the $4.00/gal gas at 10 mpg for my haul rig to come get it,
After we talk the scratch for you to let it go!

P.S., do you have all the Glass ? I see the rear side window is missing.
Send a PM on price & Where are you!!!!

2nd, Hey Johnny, sorry, I meant it in a Suggestive, LOL attitude. The original mission is to keep the rig as stock as possible
so curb side junk parts are available in Europe & Africa (ie; So Your Cousin has one out back, Hey?)

Sent PM c3006,

The distance is the killer !! $4.00/gal gas, it would be cheaper to make a deal with the Cannuks on one of them Alum. Bodies being that I am so close to the boarder crossing at Sault Ste. Marie.
